The Misericordia di Ariccia has helped people since 1994. We are a group of volunteers who support anyone in need across the Castelli Romani, near Rome.
Our mission is to give help — both practical and human — to those who are suffering or in difficulty, inspired by the Gospel and by the Works of Mercy.
What we do
- Health transport for sick, elderly and disabled people
- Food bank and distribution of essential goods to families in need
- Listening centre and psychological support
- First-aid training for citizens and rescuers
- Civil Service for young people, and social-inclusion projects
A long tradition
The Misericordie are among the oldest volunteer associations in the world: a tradition of charity almost eight centuries old, born in Florence in 1244. Today more than 800 Misericordie operate across Italy; Ariccia has been part of this family since 1994.
