The Works of Mercy are the concrete acts through which the Misericordie have always put charity into practice: fourteen acts — seven corporal and seven spiritual — that answer the needs of body and soul. They are the root and the meaning of our name.
Corporal works
Feed the hungry · give drink to the thirsty · clothe the naked · shelter the homeless · visit the sick · visit the imprisoned · bury the dead.
The Misericordia di Ariccia lives them every day through the food bank, health transport, hospital volunteers and closeness to those who suffer.
Spiritual works
Counsel the doubtful · instruct the ignorant · admonish sinners · comfort the afflicted · forgive offences · bear wrongs patiently · pray for the living and the dead.
They are the spirit of our listening centre and of our daily service to the community.
